We want to make our families aware of a situation that took place at the Middle School before the start of school today (11/13/23). Thanks to a Middle School student who saw something and had the courage to say something, Middle School administrators were informed of a middle school student who had a BB-gun in their backpack. BB guns are a type of air gun. The student who reported to administrators saw the student showing it to a few other students in the parking lot after getting off the bus and before entering the school. Administrators received the report just as the student was entering the school and they immediately contacted the student and confiscated the BB gun without incident.
The student’s discipline is being administered in compliance with the District’s discipline procedures while the Middle School further investigates this situation.
The student who reported this incident is to be commended for their actions. It also serves as a good reminder for families to encourage your students, if they see or hear about anything they think threatens the safety of the school learning environment to say something.

Queremos avisarle a nuestras familias de una situación que tuvo lugar en la Middle School antes del inicio de clases hoy (13/11/23). Gracias a un estudiante de secundaria que vio algo y tuvo el valor de decir algo, los administradores de la Middle School fueron informados de un estudiante que tenia una pistola BB en su mochila. Las pistolas de BB son un tipo de pistola de aire comprimido. El estudiante que informo a los administradores vio al estudiante monstrandoselo a algunos estudiantes en el estacionamiento despues de bajarse del autobus y antes de ingresar a la escuela. Los administradores recibieron el informe justo cuando el estudiante ingresaba a la escuela e inmediatamente lo contactaron y confiscaron la pistola de aire comprimido sin incidentes.
La disciplina del estudiante se esta administrando de confromidad con los procedimientos disciplinarios del Distrito mientras el Middle School investiga mas a fondo esta situación.
El estudiante que denuncio este incidente debe ser felicitado por sus acciones. Tambien sirve como un buen recordatorio para que las familias animen a sus estudiantes a decir algo si ven o escuchan algo que creen que amenaza la seguridad del entorno de aprendisaje escolar.
