2022-2023 K-12 Schools COVID Protocols

As the new school year gets underway we want to make sure families are aware of the most recent COVID safety protocols.  As has been the case throughout the pandemic the District continues to follow health agency guidelines.

The K-12 school guidelines have changed slightly from last school year.  This year, regardless of vaccination status, if your student has been exposed to a COVID positive case or you think they’ve been exposed follow these guidelines:

  • Have student continue attending school
  • Monitor for symptoms associated with COVID
  • Test student for COVID as soon as possible after exposure
  • Recommend student wear a mask for 10-days after exposure

If they do develop symptoms within 10-days of the exposure they should stay home from school.  If they test negative for COVID they can return to school after the symptoms improve significantly and they do not have a fever within the past 24 hours of returning without the use of fever reducing medication.

If they test positive they can return to school after five days have passed since symptoms appeared if their symptoms have significantly improved and they have not had a fever within the past 24 hours of returning without the use of fever reducing medication.

If you need rapid tests to conduct testing at home please contact the health team at your student’s school.
